We're 5-star rated

All of our wonderful, friendly primary tutors are fully qualified primary teachers and have taught in schools for many years. They know their stuff and why would you expect anything less for your child?

Our team can offer 1:1 sessions every week during term time on a day and time to suit you. This can take place at your home, the tutor’s home or even at our tuition centre, where we have welcoming and informal classrooms if you want a quieter space for your child’s 1:1 session to take place, away from the home.

Our tuition centre is based in Chelston in Torquay but subject to availability we have tutors offering tuition from their homes in Torbay, Teignbridge and the South Hams or they can even travel out to you.

There can be various reasons for seeking primary tuition. You may want your child to have tuition to boost their confidence or their levels in school. Your child may be gifted and talented and you would like tuition to enrich and nurture their talents further.  Whatever your reason for looking for primary tuition, you need to make sure your child is receiving personalised and quality tuition that focuses on addressing their knowledge gaps whilst building their confidence at the same time.

Building confidence and making learning fun is at the heart of everything we do. After all, what child is going to engage and learn if lessons are boring and dry?

What do you get with 1:1 tuition with us?

  • We incorporate games and hands-on learning as much as we can so that our lessons make learning fun.
  • We follow the National Curriculum and complement what is being taught in your child’s school.
  • We create an individual tuition plan that is tailored to suit your child.
  • We send you weekly lesson notes via email after your lesson, so you have a record of what was covered and, more importantly, what they need to do for homework.
  • We also give you verbal updates at the end of each lesson and the opportunity to ask us any questions or pick our brains, if needed.
  • Weekly homework will be set if requested, that will consolidate the learning taking place with their tutor.
  • Regular email updates from our Director Emma with primary resources, advice and recommendations to support your child further at home yourselves.

Primary SEN

Our specialist SEN tutors have provided effective one-to-one tuition for many primary school children with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and other learning difficulties over the years.

PrimaryTuition is tailored to your child and we work around your child’s learning needs. Our tutors can devise tuition programmes to accommodate various special education needs, such as using specialised resources, adapting our approach or just using our years of experience to create lessons in a way that allows a child with needs to access learning.
