Over the past ten years, we have helped hundreds of adult learners locally get into a career in teaching, the armed forces and the NHS. We really can mould around what you need help with.
How does it work?
Adult tuition can be very flexible. It does not have to be a weekly or monthly commitment; you may just want to book a few ad-hoc sessions, which is completely fine. We understand that adults usually study around working full-time or looking after a family, so tuition sessions may need to change from week to week or be booked in later in the evenings.
We can also offer ad-hoc sessions, so you can book a couple of booster lessons or just one lesson monthly to support some knowledge gaps if that is all you need.
Lessons can be at our tuition centre in Chelston, Torquay, at your home, or online.
We are an accredited examination centre with NCFE, so we can offer English and Maths Functional Skills exams—these range from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2.
You may need to gain a Functional Skills qualification to gain entry to a college or further education course.
We offer flexible Functional Skills exams in paper format or via our online assessment portal. These are usually sat at our exam centre in Torquay but these can also be sat remotely online around the UK.
Unlike other exam boards that set the day and time you must sit their exams. Our exam board offers the flexibility of booking the exam on a day that suits you.
We make it as bespoke and flexible to your needs as we can, to ensure high levels of success. What makes it even better? NCFE Functional Skills offers a 6-day results turnaround and one free re-sit per exam. This means that you get results quickly and have the chance to re-sit under the same initial fee. We can also proofread your University essays or dissertations to help you ace your university or college courses. Asking a professional and qualified teacher to help ensure that you are on the right track and not waffling, can be really valuable.
It may be that you need a few lessons with a tutor to work on essay structure at university level or support with understanding a tricky topic. We have a very qualified team, who can support you to degree level.
For our international friends, we offer English as a Foreign Language classes. These are taught by our CELTA trained tutors, who also teach our native English students to GCSE and A level too, so you will be in very capable hands.
If you’re preparing for your QTS Skills exams for Initial Teacher Training, we’re here to help make your journey smooth and successful.
We have been helping teachers pass these QTS tests for years. We have oodles of resources and knowledge to help you.
We also have tutors who can help prepare you for cognitive testing or Maths and English entrance tests for the British Army, Navy or RAF.
We can also support with all the subsets tests on the cognitive ability test: error detection, orientation, number fluency, word rules and deductive reasoning.
We have a lot of experience in preparing adults for these armed forces tests to gain entry to the next step of their careers.
